Developers aim to secure cash flow, meet delivery deadlines, and expand operations, while tapping debt markets and managing escrowed buyer payments. Experts warn that in-house construction risks overextension, idle capacity during downturns, and management complexity, potentially leaving independent contractors to pivot to other sectors.
